Fashion at Pitti Uomo plays a massive influence on menswear; it is the people’s translation of stage to street. Pitti Uomo, or Pitti Imagine is a bi-annual event that takes place in Florence, Italy at the Fortezza da Basso. It’s a trade show where designers and brands from all over the world come together to showcase their brand to potential stockists and media. We’re focusing on it’s the ninetieth Pitti Uomo show that was held earlier this month, with the showcase of menswear also reflected by local street culture.
From the New York Times’ selection of the “most captivating fashion show on the streets”, the attention to street styles has gradually grown and captured by media and bloggers alike moving the catwalk spotlight to the streets. Everywhere you looked, Suits in a multitude of colors and patterns captured the audience’s attention.

Without any disappointments off stage, many were amazed to see suits of classic navy, striped, and electric blue. A large variety of boldness in eye catching colors and texture also stood out from the crowd. The Blending of Street Culture and the fashion stage were seamless, with an array of dapper men in various styles and colorful outfits in all patterns. Despite the strong presence and popularity of classic block colored suits with detailed buttons and button holes, there was more of a breakout with patterns in prints and embroidery which could mean more of these styles to be filtered into Main Street in the coming months.
